horsemouth has had an actual gig in the real world proposed to him. he has accepted.
the gig will be at the babar cafe in hereford on the 24th june with the weirdshire crew from 7.35pm. horsemouth is delighted to get an invite from this lot (because they make good music). it will be a solo gig (howard is detained by work).
still this means horsemouth will have to get on with learning songs back from volume four to add to the songs he can usually play (solo) from volume three, from volume two the only one he's ever been able to play is noah, there are a couple of songs on volume one sorrows of tomorrow etc. that again he'll have to relearn how to play them, there were a couple of songs that he has sung that are not musicians of bremen songs and predate them (legs, gentleman john etc.).
he'll take the banjolin and do high-rise strutter's ball (it's small and portable)
he's just had a crack at blindspot from volume four (he doesn't think it's a keeper) but amarach has to go in and horsemouth thinks he can get away with a solo acoustic guitar version of broadbury down.
horsemouth is currently reading a life of the reverend sabine baring gould (by bickford h.c. dickinson)
gould had 15 children and for this reason, as well as temperament, he was teh author of a vast number of books and other works;
a) the book of werewolves
b) the text of the hymn 'onward christian soldiers'
c) the words for the 'folk' song - the broadbury gibbet. horsemouth only has the words (which he lifted for broadbury down, he doesn't have the tune (possibly because he was looking for it under the wrong title).
it's a grey and cool morning. horsemouth is fiddling about. he's wearing a jumper and sitting up in bed. he slept with the window open last night.
