'boris johnson has pledged his unwavering support to jersey'
(we should probably just hand it back now before it sinks beneath the waves). royal naval vessels sent. does no one remember the cod war?
lessons of the cod war part 1. french fishermen. select the most expensive royal naval vessel you can see. ram it with a fishing boat whose prow has been reinforced with concrete. result? billion pound RN vessel has to limp off (if you're lucky it may even sink).
meanwhile. flip the switch in france. power cuts in england.
'cry god for harry, megan and st.george (who turned out the lights).'
it is a pleasure to awaken on such a day.
it's the day of the local elections. horsemouth should go out and get his votes in (lord mayor, london assembly, local councillors).
tomorrow. bandcamp friday. horsemouth would encourage you to buy his latest glistening creations.
horsemouth enjoyed this essay on art in the 1871 paris commune part of a week long series of such things.
meanwhile (on the subject of great british naval failures) were you aware that queen elizabeth managed to suppress the humiliating truth of drake’s counter-armada to attack coruña and lisbon in 1589 so brilliantly that for three centuries no englishman was aware of it.
no me neither! (though in fairness horsemouth does claim to be welsh these days).
ok horsemouth did manage to find a contemporary account of it.
horsemouth dunvoted. the usual mixture of red and green that will please nobody.
it's only the local elections but the finances are fucked as a result of covid and the conservatives would probably only bail out one of their own (and even then only to a limited extent). only the spare seats in the london assembly are PR.
'could I do that too? could I set up a charity (to redecorate) my living room?'
all the cameron stuff is dead in water but for comedy gold fast forward until 22 minutes in for the boris flat redecoration scandal told in an irish accent.
horsemouth chatted to ben online for the longest time (comments back and fore). he'll post some of it today. at some point it would be good to meet up.
