'all the past is fallen together' - jonas meekas.
horsemouth has been watching jonas meekas in fragments of paradise: the jonas meekas story. he has been looking back through his posts for december, putting together his books/ films/ gigs list.
the end of the old year approaches (new year's eve) and then the new year begins (new year's day).
or, the old year has ended already (winter solstice) and the new year has already begun.
or, the old year (the 52 week accountancy year) is over and a 53 week accountancy year has just begun.
so many stutters in time. such a problem with beginnings. with foundings.
and the new year threatens to begin.
horsemouth has written his end of the year roundup already. he has not written a welcoming in of the new year yet.
horsemouth is back in his bedroom. he is surrounded by his books. he has recovered an old book on the constitution from 1965 when things looked more fixed and immutable.
right now the omnishambles continues - the facts on the ground have been neglected for so long it is difficult to see how the country as a whole can move forward.
horsemouth's brother (and his family) have returned to the wen. horsemouth is still out in the wild. it was good to see everybody. it was good to take a walk up the cat's back.
