the confusion is in the head

'sometimes we think our own letters are no good because we are in a muddle of conflicting ideas, but the confusion is in the head, while the letter is clear and natural...' -  madame de sévigné's selected letters,  a reply to madam de grignan, paris friday 8th december 1673.

the anniversary of the release of hergest ridge 30th of august 1974 (said Har-guest  this seems wrong to horsemouth who has always said it her-Jest). horsemouth also shares a link to a BBC hereford and worcester documentary on it.

it's the same with records (the  muddle of conflicting ideas, but the confusion is in the head, while the record is clear and natural...). it is not one of mike oldfield's favourite albums being an attempt to move deeper into the form he'd started with tubular bells but one botched by bad recording and mixing (he claims).

horsemouth particularly likes the start - all that celtic mist.

horsemouth spent the day out of sorts and the evening listening to the wave debb show.

next week stuff wednesday and monday. today rain in the afternoon. next weeks more rain and storms.

the month is rolling to a close.

'busy all morning putting up swings for the school feast this afternoon...'  kilvert is back in clyro and getting to do useful stuff.

'the sports were kept up by the visitors and elder children long after we left, til dark, and stout mrs. williams was romping with the girls and playing oranges and lemons and thirds by moonlight.'
