'not a good night, therefore somewhat plaintive in the morning. telephoned from the post office. an ugly, much-frequented road to neufra over a range of hills. a direct route cross-country is hardly possible. a terrible storm up in bitz, everything’s covered with snow. beyond bitz, up a forested slope, a furious flurry of snow breaks out in the forest, the flakes circling down from above like a whirlwind. I don’t dare venture into the open fields any more since the snow there blows horizontally. for many years they haven’t had anything remotely like this, and it’s not even december yet...'

rory (aurora) block tells a nice tale of an early stefan grossman tour. this has him calling in at each and every pawn shop and asking if they had any old guitars, buying old martin guitars for $45. guitars now worth thousands.
'and then everywhere we went stefan would pick up another martin. pick up another glorious pre-war martin. you see, in those days, who knew that old was good.'
that's stefan grossman spelt H-U-S-T-L-E (hustle).
meanwhile robbie basho's 12 string has resurfaced and people have been playing it for a tribute project.
horsemouth has a collection of comparatively cheap guitars. he likes guitars where the sound has character. at the moment he mostly plays his rockabilly version of babylon's burning on the hohner. his hohner 12 string is out but he doesn't play it much. the rest of the guitars are in their bags awaiting a suitable musical project.
