it rolls towards the end of the week
it rolls towards the end of the month
it rolls towards the end of the year...
horsemouth has been for a walk on the common. he took the recycling bin down the drive, walked up dick's pitch and along the path along the edge of the common to the pond and then round his usual route (pretty much). he did not go over towards the well and then up the hill and back.
earlier he took the eggs down to the crossroads before it rained.
on the wednesday it rained (and it's just started raining again and it's due to rain again on the thursday).
later he went for another wander on the common (this time up over towards the well and the hill).
he's going to have to get used to it raining again (he's pretty much forgotten what that looks and feels like).
he looks out of the window now (it has clearly been raining in the night).
the energy price cap is going up by 2% from 1st october to 31st december 2025 the price for energy for a typical household will go up by 2 per cent to a typical £1,755 per year. this broadly reflects/ causes inflation.
at the moment it's not his problem any more (he was just having an imaginary row in his head with someone about this sort of thing but fuck it it isn't his problem any more).
it's more than a year since the musicians of bremen's last gig. howard was teasing him about not having any new material.
he was watching the mike oldfield documentary - the tubular bells they couldn't get loud enough, they had to be hit with a claw hammer. soon the anniversary of the release of hergest ridge (horsemouth's favourite).
before sleep he read a few pages of madame sévigné's letters. the country seemed to be at war, male friends were dying, the letters back and fore with madam de grignan were missing each other. (fore/ forth - horsemouth was just looking it up 'forth' is more standard apparently).
