'already existing climate memorials—a funeral for the okjökull glacier in iceland; the last rent chunks of a lost glacier, hauled to a copenhagen square and left to melt...'
- emmett rensin, an apocalypse for every epoch, LA review of books, 13th december 2025.
woo-hoo! horsemouth just got a like on his substack page (that's him delighted).
it was from his friend chloe though (so he's not shocked - but he is pleased). her writing is reliably excellent and thoughtful - go read it.
horsemouth picks up occasional likes from a guy called aaron labaree who seems to be a publishing author (his stuff is good too).
on the whole the masses on substack have not flocked to horsemouth and bombarded him with love - mind you they haven't elsewhere on other 'platforms' either (so horsemouth is not particularly bothered).
horsemouth has just reminded himself he's got to take the bins down the drive (the collection day has moved because of christmas). so he'll go and do that now to make sure it is out of the way. remind him to check when the milk delivery is also.
as is usual for this time of year he's having a think about 'relaunching'. he's also thinking about 'summing up' the year.
today 'the family' arrive.
