there's a delay. bad traffic. the 'family' will be late coming over.

(this is good it gives horsemouth's mum more chance to rest).

the strange bit of the year between the winter solstice/ christmas and the new year

and indeed it was worse than that. when horsemouth worked there would be a flurry of bookings in early january and then nothing as students were sent off to prepare for their exams. education would begin again in february (and be pretty much done by may).

the students would sit their exams and vanish off into the aether. (and be back again late september)

horsemouth has started on his books read/ films watched/ gigs been to/ and events happened list for december 2025

this includes all sorts of webpages, blogs, youtube clips etc. but horsemouth's thinking is so old fashioned he has not recorded them that way. 

if he watched or listened to it, it's a film.

 if he read it, it's a book.

if he went to it, and/or it was musical, it was a gig. (livestreams he is really not sure how to record them). 

 and so on. 

soon the -embers will be over and we will be into the -uaries. we will be digging our way up to the light through the long dark tunnel. 

but for now the interstice, the interregnum, the pause.

horsemouth has decamped from the bedroom he usually uses (his brother's old room) to the 'office' (as it is sometimes thought of.  he has brought his guitar with him and his laptop. once again there is nothing much on tv (or  indeed on youtube).

apparently he spent a lot of time watching to andy edwards on youtube this year, and outlaw bookseller and bookpilled, and french stuff (les vampires etc.) and classic movies etc. horsemouth went back through the clips he had liked. he did a lot more 'liking' this year wanting to at least minimally thank the people for entertaining him.
