horsemouth is back out in the wilds.
(someone has sent him a text asking this but he can't work out who)
an uneventful journey back. in the pub in hereford (killing time waiting for the bus) a chat with two dudes - alex and david. david was south african, from capetown and had quite a good singing voice (horsemouth got the guitar out - despite the fact it only had 5 strings, david tuned it up and away he went).
interestingly enough he sang a version of in the heat of the night.(might have been still of the night)
horsemouth sung a little (la zandunga) but couldn't remember any of his usual repertoire.
it looks like a rainy day out there (yup bbc weather says it is in all day). horsemouth has been out already to unleash the chickens. a branch has collapsed (or been pulled down) on one of the apple trees, the sheep are busy eating the leaves.
there's certainly plenty of marrow. there's plenty of spinach. they should be fine for the runner beans for a while. there are some onions coming and a handful of carrots. only a handful of beetroot is left. there are probably lots of potatoes (but horsemouth hasn't checked them yet).
today horsemouth will shell some runner beans (because he believes the beans on their own - if boiled - can be eaten) and they have ratehr a lot of them that have grown out (his efforts to space out the crop have failed).
mum was talking about going into the village today but it's a tuesday with the pesky 442 abergavenny service timetable (rather than the nice dependable monday-thursday-friday 440 timetable).
