ohnedaruth (a monastic trio)

'this music is dedicated to the mystic, ohnedaruth, known as john coltrane during the period from september 23, 1926 to july 17, 1967' - alice coltrane, liner notes a  monastic trio,

recorded january 29th 1968 at the coltrane family home in dix hills.

but as you can see these three songs (ohnedaruth together with lord, help me to be, and the sun), that were recorded on this day, are not by a trio (and alice is not on harp for them as the album cover suggests) but by a four piece. the line up is pharoah sanders; alice coltrane (piano); jimmy garrison; ben riley.

indeed these two earlier featured on john coltrane's posthumous cosmic music and were added to the CD reissue of a monastic trio together with the earlier recorded  altruvista (a solo piano piece)

horsemouth is back from a walk on the common (this was good for his head). as usual when he started walking he was assailed by ghosts from the communal endeavour but after a while he had shucked them off and was able to contemplate the scenery (when not treading carefully to avoid falling over in the mud).

no recycling bin out today (not enough recycling).

horsemouth wants to get on with some administrations but he needs a code number first. ok he got the code number but was defeated by online form hell and in the end resolved it with a phonecall by producing his mother at exactly the right minute.

hopefully that's done it. (er.)

ok we have reached darkness. horsemouth has fed and locked up the chickens and take two 20kg bags of layers pellets into the garage..

he is hunting around for things to write (maybe stuff will occur to him in the morning).

it's the morning. greyish but with no obvious rain (until later).
